Blake's Family

You can help the families of Bridge Communities on #GivingTuesday

Allow us to introduce Blake. Born just a few weeks ago on September 1st, Blake has avoided homelessness thanks to his mother’s courage and her new journey with Bridge Communities.

This Giving Tuesday, you can donate and help keep families safe. Thanks to a generous match from BMO Harris Bank, donating now means you’ll double your impact to help local families.

Blake’s mother, Anissa, began her two-year stay with Bridge Communities just days before welcoming her newborn into the world. She’ll have access to resources like mentoring, budgeting help, reliable childcare, employment opportunities and more. Because of the generosity of people like you, Anissa and Blake are safe and secure while they prepare for their exciting new future.

This Giving Tuesday, please help keep families like Blake's safely housed. A donation of just $35 will provide two nights of housing (due to a generous match from BMO Harris Bank). Please make a gift today!

Don’t wait – click here to donate and make a lifelong impact on a local family in need:
Thank you for being a friend to Blake and Anissa when they need you the most!

During the 2021 school year, 1,901 DuPage County students (birth to 12th grade) were identified as lacking a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence. This includes children living in shelters, cars, and most commonly those children sharing housing with others due to loss of housing or economic hardship. This is how homelessness is defined for our school children under the McKinney Vento Homeless Assistance Act.
