A One Night survey conducted on January 25, 2007 indicated that 766 persons in DuPage County were homeless that night.  This includes 143 family units.

Collaborations and Partnerships

Bridge Communities is proud to partner with dozens of for-profit businesses and non-profit organizations to create a system that encourages self sufficiency, long-term change, and compassionate care.

Bridge Builders are local residents who take a hands-on approach to enhancing the lives of Bridge client families, particularly creating exceptional experiences for the children.

Career Vision provides skill aptitude assessments and testing so that our families have a better understanding of their needs and abilities. 

Community Housing Association of DuPage (CHAD) provides long-term government subsidized housing for many Bridge Communities' client families after they leave the Transitional Housing program.  CHAD also manages Bridge Communities’ apartment buildings and does Bridge’s book-keeping.

Directions Training discounts software training courses for our client families to help develop computer and employment skills.  Provides pro-bono mock interviews and employment counseling for client families.

DuPage Community Clinic fulfills pre-entry drug screens for Bridge Communities applicants.

DuPage County Homeless Continuum consists of 58 member organizations that work together to create visionary solutions to promote self sufficiency, maintain a seamless network of community resources and build capacity through the responsible allocation of funds with the overall goal to end homelessness in DuPage County.

Family Shelter Services provides referrals to Bridge Communities and provides some counseling for our clients families.

DuPage Homeownership Center provides credit counseling and homeownership preparation for Bridge Communities' client families.  Some families have purchased a home through their discounted loan program.

Illinois Employment and Training Center (IETC) provides employment and training services to our client families.

LDS Staffing provides employment coaching, training, mock interviewing, resume writing and employment placement for our client families.

Peoples Resource Center (PRC) provides a food pantry, employment training and other resources to many of our client families.

Poised for Success provides business clothing to women who are entering the workforce, but who lack the financial means to acquire suitable attire for job interviews.

Sharing Connections provides furniture and clothing for some of our client families.

Village Garage Glen Ellyn accepts, inspects, repairs and stores donated automobiles for the Bridge Communities Auto Donation program.  Donated cars are given to our clients to use for transportation to work, school and child care.

Venturi Staffing provides employment coaching and placement for our client families.
